Dermal filler injections require very minimal downtime, allowing patients to return to work and their normal activities directly following treatment. For the first 24 hours, individuals may be instructed to refrain from strenuous activities and excessive sun or heat exposure. An advantage to using hyaluronic acid fillers is that if there is an adverse reaction or the outcome of treatment is not as expected, these dermal fillers can be broken down enzymatically using an injection called hyaluronidase!
Dentists who are able to administer dermal fillers are highly trained in the muscles and vasculature of the face and are very knowledgeable on the uses of dermal fillers to enhance your smile and overall facial aesthetics.
Juvéderm Filler in
Aging is a natural part of life, but with aging comes those pesky wrinkles. What if you could erase those wrinkles and fine lines and restore your skin’s elasticity and appearance? Well, now you can with Juvéderm fillers from Beachwood Dental!
What Is Juvéderm?
Dermal fillers are a popular treatment for patients looking to add volume to specific areas of the face. They are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, and augment areas to balance facial aesthetics. The most common areas treated in our dental office are lips and static wrinkles around the mouth, focusing on those parts of the face that will enhance your smile!
Dermal fillers are the most common nonsurgical cosmetic procedure performed in the U.S., and Juvéderm is one of the newest and most popular dermal fillers on the market today. Allergan’s Juvéderm is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based filler. Due to its meticulous manufacturing process, Juvéderm contains the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any filler on the market. This high concentration provides long-lasting results.
Juvéderm can last up to six months or more. However, since everyone’s metabolism is different and our bodies break things down at different rates, each person will have their own experience with Juvéderm fillers. Fortunately, when you notice your filler starts to wear off, you can come right in for a touch-up!
Turn Back Time with Juvéderm in Cleveland
Wrinkles are caused by a combination of factors including the natural process of aging, sun exposure, and smoking. Juvéderm fillers are the perfect non-surgical solution for smoothing out fine lines or deep-set wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a natural compound found in our bodies that is responsible for keeping our skin naturally hydrated, full, and firm. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid our bodies produce diminishes, leading to fine lines and wrinkles in the skin.
The use of Juvéderm lip fillers in the areas around the mouth, including marionette lines and nasolabial folds, are often the most common Juvéderm fillers administered by dentists, as dental health and wrinkles around the mouth go hand in hand in giving you confidence in your beautiful smile.
Juvéderm Fillers at Beachwood Dental
Dermal fillers used in our office are made of hyaluronic acid. These hyaluronic acid fillers, specifically Juvéderm, help keep skin plump and hydrated while blending nicely into the surrounding tissue. Juvéderm is made by Allergan, the makers of Botox. Other variations of Juvéderm include Juvéderm Ultra, Juvéderm Ultra Plus, Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella.
The specific injectable dermal filler used on each patient will be determined by our consultation, where we discuss the areas to be treated and our goals for treatment. Juvéderm is also infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during treatment and, at our office, we can administer an anesthetic dental block so it is a quick and painless procedure!
Hyaluronic acid fillers are minimally invasive and generally very safe. They typically last anywhere from six to twelve months before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles.

What to Expect During Your Appointment for Juvéderm Fillers
Once we’ve decided Juvéderm fillers are the right fit for you, here’s what you can expect during your appointment:
- We will review the amounts of Juvéderm you will receive and mark the areas to be treated.
- A mild cleanser and disinfectant will be applied to the target areas.
- We will then insert a very narrow needle containing the Juvéderm filler into the facial muscles.
- Should you be worried about discomfort during the procedure, we can apply a numbing cream to the targeted areas.
Depending on the number of areas injected, you can expect the procedure to last anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. The procedure requires zero or minimal initial downtime. Minor swelling can be expected. Results may be noticeable immediately after the procedure with maximum results showing in the first week following your Juvéderm treatment.
